ARTIFACT©: as part of my PhD research, I designed and developed, in co-operation with A. Ingham, M.Eng, the computer software called ARTIFACT© for very detailed pottery recording and data storage, based on Microsoft Access.

MIDAS: my research for the University of Bournemouth, U.K., consisted of developing MIDAS, an interactive computer programme based on a database of existing artifacts and designed to assist archaeology students in learning the basic processes of post-excavation manipulation of archaeological data.
 
2003
 
Forensic Archaeology Database: I developed, under the guidance of Prof. M. Cox, Director of the Forensic Archaeology Group at Bournemouth University, U.K., this bibliographic compilation of forensic archaeology literature using EndNote.
 
 

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SPECIALISM

 

Cycladic, Minoan, Helladic, Geometric, Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine pottery, with specialisation in Minoan (especially Middle Minoan III) and Byzantine material.

 
 

ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH INTERESTS INCLUDE:

 
Ceramics (technology, production, consumption, aesthetics), archaeologies of the body, artifact databases, Aegean Bronze Age religion, habitation patterns and core-periphery issues, the adaptation of antiquity by contemporary culture, nationalism and identity through cultural heritage.
